Activity

Its important to know how to manage your different types of students.

I like the observer job idea. I think it could give that particular outgoing student a job and a more purposeful time in class.

Express what you expect from your students. Have them do activities that work on their teamwork.

I learned the different learning styles of each student in your class matters. It's a good thing to try and find what pattern or style best suits your classroom. Engagement and proper planning are also two important things I noticed in this section. It's good to keep your students as engaged as possible so they retain as much information as possible and have a good time doing so. It's important to plan accordingly to your lesson and even have backups when something goes wrong.

The first impression that you make of yourself is important. There needs to be clear communication between both sides of the classroom to eliminate as many misunderstandings as possible. You can make the first day fun by getting to know everyone in unique ways, and you can also set the tone for who you are as an instructor.

Being early is one of the most important things to me as a new instructor and also an expectation of my students. Specifically in the trades being early is respected greatly and sometimes even expected so I think if I can teach it in the classroom then they will go above and beyond when they are in the field.

I think that being professional is super important and will help students be more professional when they are out in the field. I also learned continuously improving yourself is beneficial not just to you but to students as well as being patient with your students and showing them support when they are doing good and bad. I liked the analogy of being a cheerleader and always cheering on your students.
