As an experienced cosmetology instructor, yet new to teaching high school I really relate with the class management and the realities of teaching. content Managing a cosmetology classroom requires balancing structure with creativity, especially when students are working with hands-on skills like hair, skin, and nails. It can be challenging to keep everyone engaged, on task, and practicing safely at the same time. I have had success in making sure I am an active part of the students learning experience by teaching from my feet and not my seat.

I also appreciated the content on making teaching mistakes. In this field, mistakes are not only inevitable but valuable—they model real-world learning for students. When instructors acknowledge errors and adjust their approach, it creates a more authentic and supportive learning environment. It shows students that growth is part of the process, whether behind the chair or in the classroom.
