Hi Jeff, Based on the difficulty level of your subject I understand how hard it is to retain students. You may want to try offering review/tutoring sessions, give study guides, review material before a test in the form of a game. Continue to do all you can so that students are successful in the course, yet they know the material. There are some courses that are just difficult. You may want to even use guided notes. Hi Cheryl, Awesome! What a great way to teach the concept. This is very easy to understand, and it is visual as well. Patricia Scales
Hi Sherri, Students really love it when they can have a study guide. They feel more secure and ready with a study guide. Patricia Scales
Hi KAI, Great differentation. As school personnel, we should let our students know that we truly care about them through our actions and kind words. Sometimes we have to be tough with our students, but we still can let them know that we truly care. Patricia Scales
Hi Katherine, I concur! We do not need to share our personal stories that do not apply to the lesson with students. Students enjoy hearing stories, but they need to be applicable to the lesson. Patricia Scales
Hi Stephanie, What a great way to grab your students attention. We have to be creative in this new generation of teaching. I can understand why the students get excited about this assignment. Patricia Scales
Hi Donna, This is very practical learning. This type of learning prepares the students for things they will encounter on the job. Patricia Scales
Hi Tony, I agree! Students do not need another buddy, they need a role model. Patricia Scales
Hi Bruce, I agree! Students will respect you based on the way you carry yourself. Instructors should act as their students role model in every sense. Patricia Scales
Hi Danny, I concur! I preach, I do not care how good you are, you can become better. I have been teaching for nearly 24 years, and I am still constantly evaluating myself so that I can become even better. Patricia Scales
