internal motivation

I remember my time as an adult learner when I decided to go back to college to get a B.S. in Networking and Security to further myself in my chosen career field after being away from college for 8 years working in the industry.  I remember how I found most of the instructors te be boring and clueless on how their subject really related to the industry I worked in.  Even the technical classes where at times not related to real world environments or situations. In some cases I found I knew more about the subject matter than the instructors, since they had been out of the work force teaching for the past 20 years and had become set in their ways on how a class should be conducted.  In my masters program things didn't get much better.  So when I decided to teach, I made a vow to do the very best I could.  I love to see the "light bulb" come on when a student finally masters a difficult topic.  I know I did my job.
