Equitable Delivery of Career Development Through Technologies
How has your school district involved your CTE programs related to the use of technology with respect to career development?
Reach out to local community leaders and businesses to create intern opportunities and discuss relevant instruction to "real world" experiences. This helps to ensure we are on target with content and current with technology in the classroom.
Our school is a charter school. We network within our community for partnership opportunities. This past year, we had an advisory committee to gain insight from our community partners and to be an asset and a resource for them in the community. They, in turn, shared valuable insight to help us equip our students with the skills needed to be prepared to enter a career targeted for future growth and providing a sustainable income.
Our school district strives to partner with businesses in the community to give our students the most authentic experience in our CTE classes. We have tried to keep up with changing industry standards with technology as best as possible.
Our school holds advisory committee meetings a few times a year. This is an opportunity for career industry experts to come in and evaluate our curriculum as well as the tools we use as we teach. This ensures that we are up to date with the latest technology when teaching.
