I have learned about several kinds of mental diorders .  The most impportant thing I learned was how to accomidate these disabilities in class. Perhaps making learning easier for everyone involved in the entire class.

I have learned there are many differnt forms of learning disabilities. Just because you have a disability does not mean you can't be successful in life.  There are accomidations to assist and make learning successful!

I learned that a student needs to identify and provide documentation to campus disability professionels. After they are approved, faculty then meets with them to determine the best way to accomidate their learning needs . This helps to place everyone on the same page and  encourage student to success year.

People usually think of disabilities as physical. Disabilities also include in the spectrum sensory and learning. Teachers should think of all of these when engaging a classroom. They may have to fine tune their teaching to someone's disability. Hence supporting the persons educational needs and helping them to thrive as others in the classroom.

Computer literacy is required for any nursing student presently attending classes. Some are more skilled than others with the computers. With are  group settings we always have people who are willing to assist others . They also share their phone numbers in a group chat in case anyone needs assistance at home. It is so nice to see young people willing to help others, with all the terrible things going on in the world.

Lifelong learning continues everyday. Not just for my students who are learnig but for me as well. With Covid appearing and lasting due to the many varients. I think more students will be studying on line for quite sometime.

Writing is important for Health Care Professionals. The students seem to be lacking in the basic skills of writing and spelling today when admitted into school.  I encourage them to check their spelling and grammer  prior to turning in any paper. Social Media does not help with all the slang it uses in spelling.

Critical thinking is used in the classroom and everyday living. Encouraging students to brainstorm during class. Helps to build their skills and motivation. Enhancings their critical thinking skills for everyday use.

Motivation and caring for your students is extremely important. Showing enthusiasm when they have done a great job and empathy when they are having rough time. Sometimes just breaking it down to there level helps for the light bulb to go off upstairs. When they get it, you will see it immediately on there faces. So rewarding!

I think the idea about REFOCUS is a big reminder for all teacher about midway through the quarter. This helps us and our students to meet there goals.
