As an instructor, it is important to have the appropriate resources for your students, so they gain the most from your lesson. Resources are important because they help students broaden what they know about a subject. By applying resources, it will help engage students in different activities. 

Know that students have different learning styles.  And, understand the importance of utilizing different styles in your lesson to keep students engaged in the learning process.

Students' first impression of instructors starts the minute they enter the class and continues throughout the first class meeting. That is why it is important to careful plan and prepare before meeting students. Because that first encounter can be one that helps the students understand what you expect and provides the instructor with the opportunity to establish themselves as an instructor.

Planning and preparation are key factors in setting the tone for your students and their learning.

The instructor should be identified as a Model, Manager and Motivator. They should always be seeking professional development and in the habit of being life long learners. 

As an instructor, you can utilize intrinsic motivation to connect students' interests by creating meaningful learning experiences. While also using extrinsic motivation such as recognition to encourage progress. Eventually, students would be able to use external rewards to develop their own internal motivation to learning.

Security and autonomy go hand in hand. Security builds confidence, while autonomy allow you to feel personally invested in the learning process. This balance enhances learning and ultimately leads to higher engagement and achievement from the student.

Students are motivated to learn when they have positive relationships with their instructors and the content is engaging, relatable easy for them to understand.

Just like students, instructors get tired and unmotivated too. That is why it is important as an instructor to refocus, so you can get your students reenergized and motivated to get back on track.

Understanding that students are human too. You should treat them the way you want to be treated, by showing compassion and respect. And that, learning can be fun! If you are excited about the subject, then the students may also get excited and interested in the subject matter.
