Wilfredo Colon

I am the Vice Chancellor at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM) - Online, San Juan, Puerto Rico (http://agmonline.suagm.edu/).  I have worked to obtain the full accreditation of the Middle States Commission for Higher Education (MSCHE) of this new totally online institution. I have developed and teach online graduate courses in Environmental Planning and Agribusiness.  I supervise the development of new online programs, assessment plans, and retention plans, online graduate program, formation of research committee, review and approval of research thesis proposals, and review and approve research plans. I supervise a staff of eight, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Executive Director of Continua Education, Director of Assessment and Research, Administrative Director, Director of Technology, and 3 Instructional Designers.

I am the President of the Board and CEO of the Caribbean Food Crops Society (http://cfcs.eea.uprm.edu/). This is a professional society made up of scientist, technician, farmers, businessmen, and extensionists, from the Caribbean region. The society meets every year at a different Caribbean country to celebrate an annual scientific meeting. Members represent the different agricultural organizations of the region, such as: Interamerican Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture, Association Martiniquaise pour le Développement des Plantes Alimentaires in Martinique, Caribbean Research and Development Institute in the English Caribbean, Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique in the French Caribbean, University of Puerto Rico, Instituto Dominicano de Investigación Agropecuaria y Forestal in the Dominican Republic, University of the West Indies, Centre for Agricultural Research in Suriname, University of the Virgin Islands, United States Department of Agriculture, University of Florida, other universities, and the regional ministries of Agriculture.
