Getting stdent to visualize what they are doing and to ask does this look right helps they do the task better. I show how to take things apart and then reverse the process to assemble it correctly.

As several have said and I say it in class "First impression is a lasting impression". You do not know how you meet in the halls or any where but when you walk into a class or on a job forr the first time them you relize who they are. I make sure I am friendly and polite but I am making sure the standards are set. I do set a standard and show how we should act. When a student asks a question I look at what they are asking and doing at the time. I then ask them a question about the subject in a different way to get them thinking on their own. I do this for several questions to see how they answer and then say "When you are out working and have a question think back to me and come up with another question to kick your own thoughts and with this I hope youo find your own answer".
