Activity

The information on tentative stems and check out as well as the ARCS model was good information that I can easily incorporate.

When the instructor has a welcoming Social Presence, students are more engaged in the course.

I've learned that I must continue learning so that I can better support students and adapt as learners' needs change.

Faculty and students need to have a mutual supportive and open communication in order to create a positive learning environment.

Critical thinking is improved through active learning. I will incorporate more problem based learning scenarios so that students have the opportunity to look at something from multiple angles.

Setting up lessons that use active learning can take more of the instructor's time  initially but students are more engaged.

There might be disruptions with the technology being used and it's always good to have a "Plan b."

Active learning keeps students more engaged and lessons can be developed to reach all types of learners.

Varying lecture styles along with an interactive activity keeps students engaged and motivated.

Students are always nervous on the first day.  I introduce myself and share a bit of my background. While going over the syllabus they see what I expect of them and what they can expect from me.  Once we've gotten through those things, I  do some icebreaking activities where they can get to know and become comfortable with each other.
