I think a back up plan Is very Important and goes hand and hand with being Perpared for class each day. After all i believe part of being prepared is expect/account for the unexpected, for example to Prepare to be on time each day Many people always leave a half hour or more early to account for unexpected traffic.

I Have no problem with the powerpooint I do think how ever they could use better Graffic pictures, and add some real live still shoots of parts we are explianing to go hand in hand with the pass around parts and more short clip descriptive videos.

Being perpare for class each day makes the class flow so much smoother for both you and the students, it prevents you from having to rush around and get things done just to get through the class day.

To me I treat students how Iwould want to be treated to get respect from me they must give respect just how it is in the real world all to often kids these days think that you should give them respect and they don't have to earn it.

If you relate to your students as far being the type of person they would like to model them selfs after you generally will get there attention.

In my experience as a students and instructor I have found that people general want to learn and be present to recieve information If they relate to that person

Managing class time I believe is very important as an instructor we want to get the point across in a timely matter, but at the same time do not want to lecture for so long we loose are students, So by managing my Time I leave myself plenty of time to break things up an regather my class by talking sports real quick or telling a quick joke to reset the attention and then go right back to subject material key is not to stay off topic to long.

I think that sometimes as instructor we forget that outside of school most all of are students have jobs,families,etc. If you see a student having problems have a quick talk with them and if need guide them to the proper administration some students are to proud to ask for help but if you talk about them getting help many times they will agree that they should.

First make them aware of the problem then let them know that you will not tolerate there disrupting behavior to continue and if it does there will be a consiqences

I find it helpful to let the students know that respect is not something that is just given that it is something that is earned meaning that your must be respectful in order to be respected.
