I really enjoy meeting new students and help create the opportunity for them to improve their life.  Many are very challenging but I ceratainly agree with the "listening" strategy that we are encouraged to utilize with our students that may be angry or frustrated.  It certainly helps, and shows the students that we as educators, genuinely care.
