Each person/student learns differently. Such as some learn by lecture, others learn by demonstration, while others learn by doing. The instructor should present the information so that no matter what the learning style is, the student can learn the material and understand what they have learn. 

You must know if the student in your class is using English as their first language of if it is a part of multi-languages. This helps the instructor to better understanding the student or students in their class. Different cultures express the use of different languages. It is a good idea to know this of your students. 

Each student is individual, they are special no matter of their race or culture. They should be treated the same but also individual to.  

I learned that each student is different and to not assume that they understand what you are presenting. Get to know each student individually. Learn their learning techniques both as individuals and in groups. I also learn to listen to each student explain what they have learned, not to judge them on how they explain as long as the general idea or concept is taught.
