Having fair assessments with prompt and secure grading is important because it is too easy to naturally favor students we have affinity with. We have to be professionals and our grading policy should be completely fair.

It is important for instructors to stay on their toes and change up the pace if the class is getting bored or they seem distracted. Having a plan B is a must. I use flash cards when the group online assessment fails due to internet outages. 

I think it is very helpful to keep material we present to be less formal and more personal, especially in an age where AI can generate most of these materials for us. 

I agree that the personal touch will be the ultimate job security in the future of instruction. 

What are the top 3 most annoying or distracting things instructors do?

It was really neat to see the chalkboard method of writing down ideas on the board in order to come back and circle them and even connect them or disconnect them with other words to help highlight and emphasize course material. 

I also learned the 10/20/30 approach for power point. No more than 10 slides in 20 minutes with font no less than 30 points. 

In this section I learned to change up the pace in order to be a better Instructional Delivery Expert (IDE).  It could mean taking a 20 second pause, bringing in a guest speaker, or even changing my delivery from Drill Sergeant to Socratic method style teaching. Overall, organization and having everything ready to go is a big plus because it reduces distractions.
