About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Miriam, Hands-on activities are a big hit with students. They love the lab portion of various courses. Patricia Scales
Hi Therese, This is a great variation to lecture when pertaining to drug classifications. I even know of some instructors that allow their students to do project on drug classifications. Patricia Scales
Hi Lisa, Wow, you prepare really well. I always do a run down the day before. Patricia Scales
Hi Linda, That's right! It is always best to have too much than to not have enough. Patricia Scales
Hi Bradley, Preparation is very important! If something becomes too challenging for you, get with one of the seasoned instructors. Patricia Scales
Hi Clare, I concur! I also like to compile a big notebook of hardcopies of all materials as well. Patricia Scales
Hi Katie, You are definitely on point! We need to be our students role models. There is nothing professional about befriending a student. Patricia Scales
Hi Kathy, Great idea! I prefer to do this type of counseling one-on-one. I tend to see positive results and more receptiveness when it is done individually. Patricia Scales
Hi Dr. Felicia, I love how you get all involved, therefore they must pay attention. No one likes getting caught off guard. Patricia Scales
Hi Jesse, I let my students know on Day 1 what the purpose of the course is and how the course will help them in their career to gain buy in from my students. Patricia Scales
