About me

I've been a career educator for over 20 years. I currently serve as the Academic Coordinator for Brookstone College of Business and continue to be active in the classroom as a Business Instructor. My motto is "A student doesn't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." I was honored to receive the Career College Association National Teacher of the Year award in 2001. I just love teaching!

Activity

Hi Charles, I like how you use quizzes to encourage/force your students to read. Our students need to know that reading is important to success. Patricia Scales
Hi Shauna, You are on point! We should be the professional that we want our students to become. Our students need as many role models as they can get. Patricia Scales
Hi Beverley, Guest speakers are priceless, and they serve as great reinforcers. Guest speakers validate what we teach. Patricia Scales
Hi Cynthia, Students love it when they get to have a game as a review for the test. A great combination is combining fun with learning. Patricia Scales
Hi Stacey, You have it! It is amazing to students when they take a field trip, and they get to see how text book theory becomes live. Patricia Scales
Hi Alyson, Actually, your students are very fortunate to have you for about 1 year. They can really get use to the way you do all things and certainly use that to their advantage. Patricia Scales
Hi Christy, Visual really does add better clarity/understanding. Patricia Scales
Hi Mahalia, Students tend to stay more on target when they have guided practice, such as a visual example. Patricia Scales
Hi Adrienne, I agree! Students love it and really do appreciate it when visual examples are shared. Patricia Scales
Hi Laura, Students have a better grasp when they have a visual to go by. Patricia Scales
