Just like in a traditional class, there are different types of learners taking online courses. Some may try to dominate or intimidate the instructor and other students, while others may be passive or procrastinate. Files should be kept to record different behaviors and as the instructor I should stay in contact with every student regardless of their behavior. Understanding my institutions code of conduct for online and class participation will help me with conflict management and resolution.

I learned several differances and teaching stragies for both synchronous and asychronous teaching. Rewarding students for provinding indept responses and feedback to other students, and keeping the online conversation/discussion boards active will help the students grasp different concepts and components of the course.

I learned it is important to connect with your students and maintain a close connection throughout the course. Contacting students that might be having issues, such as late or missing assignments through email or text will help them stay connected and involved with the class. 

As an effective online instructor, I must be able to communicate with my students in a variety of different ways including email, chats, post, discussion boards, and announcements, to name a few. I must be completely familiar with my CMS, online learning platform, technical support team, learner/teaching applications. I must be creative and keep the students attention during lecture, stimulate questions, and interaction among classmates. I must make sure the students have everything they need to succeed and provide support when needed.
