Holly, You did the right thing in NOT recommending those students for a position at the hospital. If the students didn't take their responsibilities serious enough to show up for clinicals, I certainly would not attach my name to them in a recommendation. That recommendation would be tied to your personal reputation and the next thing you know, your credibility is ruined for future recommendations.
