The class room appearance is an area that a lot of instructors miss. A room that has pictures and information concerning the subject is far more appealing to the student that 4 bare walls.

Meet and Greet at the door on the first day allows you to break the ice as the new class arrives, be positive upbeat and excited about what they are getting ready to learn,

The way the students see you on the first day of class and how you present yourself is one of the best indicators of how the course will be and how the students will react to your teaching.

Plan and be prepared, be professional at all times and have fun teaching the course.

On opening day be prepared have a plan and objective and share it with the students.

Hiring New Instructors from the field I have found that most new hires lack the confidence to speak in front of a large group of people. This is one of the hardest things for a new instructor must face, after time usually 6 to 9 months you will see the confidence in this person grow. They learn about themselves and how to present information to a class. Being an instructor will always be a growing and developing position if the person is willing to allow himself or herself to grow.
