I thought that the part of the lesson about a passive or aggressive approach to getting students to participate was interesting.  I usually use the passive approach, emailing students who are not as engaged in the work.  I think the aggressive approach might work in some cases, but it could also put students on the spot, which might make them uncomfortable.

I like the comment that the instructor made on posting video announcements.  I agree that many students these days relate to video more than text.  However, some of my announcements contain a lot of specific information that cannot be contained in a short video. I think that the best approach for me would be to include a video that summarizes this information, followed by a more detailed text description.
