One of the most important ideas I learned from this module is that successful online learning is a shared responsibility between the instructor and the student.  While instructors should provide clear expectations, timely feedback, and regular communication, students must also stay engaged, manage their time wisely, ask questions when they need help, and participate actively in the course.  I plan to continue emphasizing these expectations in my online classes by providing clear instructions, regular reminders, and encouraging students to work consistently throughout the term rather than waiting until the last minute.

One of the most important ideas I learned from this module is that instructors should not assume students already have the technology skills needed for an online course.  Providing clear instructions, "How To" guides, and technical resources at the beginning of the course can help students become more confident and avoid unnecessary frustration.  I plan to continue providing clear course instructions and step-by-step guidance so students can focus more on learning and less on technology.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned from this module is the importance of effective communication in an online course.  Since students and instructors do not meet face-to-face regularly, communication must be clear, professional, and appropriate to prevent misunderstandings and help students feel supported.  I especially liked the CPA model because it emphasizes being focused, respectful, concise, and timely.

In this module, I learned how rubrics can be used to assess communication in an online course.  Rubrics provide clear expectations for students and help instructors evaluate participation consistently and fairly.  I play to apply what I learned by using rubrics to assess discussion board participation, focusing on areas such as timeliness, relevance, quality of writing, and contribution to the discussion.
