This traning has really reminded me of all of the changes that have taken place in the education field since the safe harbor laws were updated to more specific standards in the education field.  Many of these topics were part of communications over the past years since 2012, but it really reflects on some very specific changes regarding financial aid verfications and additional securities to protect the students among many other topics.  I also was able to review some proper language to use with students when interacting with them.  Students get upset at times becasuse of the information requested of them when… >>>

I really liked the read outloud feature! It addresses different learning styles.  I get the most out of this feature because I can absorb more the information that way.  This allows me to quickly recognize information that is important to remember and/or review terms that I will continue to use in this field.

A best practice for me is to refer to my University Resources to accurately present information about the university. This includes my university's Consumer Information Guide and university website.  Accreditation is also one of the most important and common questions a student may have.  I direct students to the above mentioned resources to get detailed information as well as the website for the higher learning commission or HLC, which is the accrediting body that accredits the univeristy I work for.  This ensure that students are reading information that directly answers their questions.
