About me
At this time, I am an adjunct instructor with Sanford-Brown College in Cleveland, OH. I teach the General Education courses that include English Composition, Effective Communication, and Psychology. When the opportunity presents itself, I dearly love working with the entry level students who can profit from exercises to enhance their self esteem. Our staff at SBC is extremely helpful to student and personnel alike. The leadership is solid. It is a privilege to serve at SBC.

I have just finished the course: ED 119 Using Technology to Engage and Educate. It was very informative and useful. Has anyone else taken this course?
Indeed it is important for instructors to be a master at soft skills as well as the hard skills. Does anyone experience that "good listening" is a needed part of soft skills on the parts of instructors and students? How do other instructors manage students who are using cell phones during a teaching lesson? Is respect a part of soft skills?
I have just completed the above course. I found it to be informative, however, the practise quiz and the final test did not seem to coordiate to me. Any others have a feedback on this course and assessment?
I learned alot from Course 106, especially working with ELL students. There is indeed a baseline of info that must be taught/learned in each course. At times, this can be a challenge to the learner if he/she has reading and reading comprehension issues. I have found that it is also important to help the student to use his/her life story to motivate the others in the class. I have developed a deep respect for students who can overcome. The story of Eric, a blind student, who indeed was successful ( written about in course 106) is very humbling.

I have respect for our students in Cleveland. In many respects, people have changed as to what is considered the "norm." Most students work or have worked at responsible jobs for many years. Many have been "bossses." Many students' motivational drive includes earning money to continue to support themselves and others. They are serious about finishing their programs and serious about not being able to provide for themselves and others during this college time as well as seriously concerned about finding a job in their major after… >>>
