This session provided infoormation on how to keep records of the different types of communications the instructoor engages in with students. Private communications should be kept private. Know how to organize and arrange the correspondences in groups and how important they are. Refer students to appropriate areas where they can find the information they need. Identify the different types of disruptive behaviours and how best to handle such behaviors based on institution policies.

The meaning of synchronous and asynchronous learning were discussed, also the strategies for effective learning using these methods. How to provide feedbak was also discussed and good online communication strategies were also diiscussed.

I have learnt how to make my presence known from a distance to students, also how to create a good and healthy teacher-student relationship.

As an instructor I need to understand the course delivery process. Understand the CMS, go through the courses and modules in order to be able to guide students and answer their questions.

Every individual have a dominant learning style. It is improtant that the instructor ensure they use all the different learning styles while teaching. It is also important to make the students understand that reading is the prefered learning style as this enablles the learner to understand the content of what is expected of them to learn. Structure what is to be learnt in trenches of 10-15 minutes to foster retention. Develop a list of what to do and achieve on first day of class, introduce self and encourage students to introduce themselves, make everyone feel a sense of inculsion in the class, give an overview of what the course is all about, the expectations foor students, provide sylabuus and course outline. Start to to learn the students' names and put a face to the names.

It is improtant to develop specific goals for the course, have a well mapped out sylabus and start to develop the course content on time. Arrivve to class on time and make all instructional materials handy. Seek the input of other instructors to be sure that you are on the right track.

I have learnt and refreshed my memory of what it take to become an instructor. As an instructor, I have to bear in mind that it is the learning by students that is every improtant not the teaching. I have to present myself in a very professional manner, be in charge of the classroom, be a model, motivator and manager. It is also improtant to bear in mind that I need to continually develop myself to be able to excel and impact positively to my students.
