I have learned that my school may lean way too heavily on the faculty for retention efforts

I agree—reflection paired with action and adjustments going forward. Upon reflection, it seems that the adjustments required are often smaller than one may initially think. 

This was a pretty great course. It helped remind me of my mission statement and what I want to bring to the classroom everyday. 

I am going to start applying more ways for the students to interact with each other in the classroom, but also outside of the class. 

I appreciate the insight on ways to make orientation fun but also to keep an awareness to not make it corny.

I never considered all the ways students weigh the value to cost in deciding to stay in school. Lots of great information here! 

It is important to use multiple forms of online involvement such as Blogs, Chats, and Wikis

EQ is something I can continue to work on throughout my career

 

F2F teaching does not automatically translate to an online environment. It is important to consider the audience, organize info, orchestrate delivery, and continually assess the success of the course.
