Always keep records of behavioral issues. Set up a work email with folders that will be easily navigatable and keep diligent with file management.

If you are going to host a Synchronous class session, there should be no more than 5-6 people to keep things manageable. Make sure you provide them with plenty of information in advance so they can come to the discussion prepared. Keep in mind the different time zones and schedules when hosting a session and let students know how long they should expect to be in a meeting for. Give feedback often and within a reasonable timeframe.

To gain trust and confidence from your students, you should introduce yourself along with your achievements, both academic and professional on Day One.  Continue by taking time throughout the first week to get to know them and reach out on a personal level. 
I reach out to my students weekly, whether it be a phone, Zoom or Skype call to check in with them and see if they have any issues or questions that need addressing.

It is imperative to understand how to navigate the CMS in its entirety. Ensuring a thorough orientation for the student with the CMS will assist the student to work confidently and more efficiently while reducing unnecessary calls and emails to instructors and IT departments.
