The module presented information about creating effective assessments, with many of the problems and benefits of different methods. I recall as a student previously disliking instructors using trick questions or wording problems to mask or obscure the correct answer, sometimes even double negatives in questions, I think applying what I learned I will seek to have questions and assessments that adequately test knowledge while avoiding many of the problems with the various types of assessments.

I learned about various methods of assessing students in different areas and some problems and general recommendations for each. Some of the content was familiar to me, such as Bloom's taxonomy.

I learned about different learning styles and how different methods of instruction should be mixed in order to provide instruction to reach different students with various learning styles.

I learned about components of motivation for students and hope to be able to apply characteristics of being a motivating instructor.

I learned ways to focus on the students and their capacity for learning while also further stimulating it so they can continue to learn and reinforce content.

I learned about ways to understand student needs and create a positive learning environment in which each can succeed.

Ensuring students gain an understanding of the course and it's purpose, where they will be going and what they will be learning.

I learned different instructional components for planning and preparing for each course as well as areas of significant importance such as ensuring the teaching environment and materials are prepared for the class ahead of time.

I learned some aspects of being an instructor which requires constant personal and professional development to continually learn to improve and enable students to learn the content they are being taught so they can apply it.
