In my classes I open the floor for my students to see, know and understand that I am not perfect. I may not pronounce every word correctly or may have spoken incorrectly. I allow my students to correct me, or even pronounce the word that I may have issues with. I find that this keeps their minds on the topics and engaged in helping me with the lecture. During the first day and also first week of class, I like to place them in groups and see who is willing to step up to be captain or who hides. This allows me and the fellow classmates to see who can lead the team and who is shy, or just plain lazy.

When I am dealing with a student who is challenging either me as an instructor or the information given, I give them the assignment to prove me wrong or help me to see their point of view. When giving their opinion/point of view it can not be just "hear say" they must provide the research along with their claim or the must remain quiet.
