Students can see the minimum criteria, and many choose to meet only the bare minimum and I will point out the need to participate more in the class, and some choose to meet the minimum requirements and earn a â€œCâ€ for the class.   </div>					<!-- </p> -->

I give them additional information to consider, see if they are willing to change their minds or stick to your views.  If they choose to maintain their viewpoints, I try again, altering the facts slightly to se if the student is now willing to change their minds when a reasonable person would make adjustments in their viewpoints.</div>					<!-- </p> -->

1. Knowing the subject matter that is within your field of study.  For example you may have a degree in criminal justice but lack the skills to teach in the legal courses, or you are an attorney but do not have the applied experience to teach classes on law enforcement, or corrections.

If they provide a response to a discussion board assignment, I will ask additional questions and request they document their responses.  Usually if they do not will repeat the response, and as they research and document their answers I may change the facts and ask additional questions and request the student to support the follow up response with scholarly sources.</div>					<!-- </p> -->
