About me

Activity

Encourage students to come to you and share if they have learning disabilities and to let you know what services have been successful in the past.

Use repetition and make learning meaningful and show how it applies to the students' lives.

When moving around the classroom pause for 20 seconds periodically to read the room.  Also limit group sizes to 6 to 8 to allow all members a chance to contribute and start with a small low stakes assignment to get buy in from the group.

Make sure to move around the classroom and make eye contact with each student.

I learned a lot of new strategies to help me be a better instructor and to be more positive in motivating students.

Focus on students' strengths and ways to showcase them.

Focus more on accomplishments and things students are good at.

The importance of technology in education and the workplace.

The importance of encouraging teamwork with defined goals for each person in the group.
