Marie Gagnon

Nursing Faculty

Nursing educator for the past 12 years. I love teaching, I delight in the moments when my students adopt new insights and new paradigms as they begin to understand how individuals suffer from mental illnesses, addictions, and personality disorders. My goal is to have them see, listen, and understand the pathophysiology and not use steretypical responses that I hear from healthcare providers everyday, such as, "Oh! she's just crazy" or "He's only an addict". When they become RNs I want them to attend to the person, to offer self, and to actively listen and determine how to best meet their biopsychosocial needs. Thanks, marie
