As a professor one must take into account the depth of the reading material and how long it will take the average student to synthesize the information presented. It is good to prepare the lessons in chunks, assuring the workload is "just right", and not "too little" or "too much".

Considering the student needs while developing the course is important. It is also important to evaluate the content each student must master, When structuring a course, using these two will help students learn more effectively.

Making sure student feedback is read and understood. In this way, the course may always be effective for the students who are taking the course.

Understanding your audience and the tools you will use will help in deciding if synchronous versus asynchronous is the best for your class.

In this module, I have learned that it is important to select the appropriate online tools. Investigating them and ensuring that it serves the purpose of the lessons and the learner.

I learned that it is important to have clear guidelines on communication. This will ensure that little to no errors may occur between students and teachers, as the expectations are clearly defined.

This section addresses the inevitable: procrastination. Understanding the different types of student learners will help an online teacher navigate these occurrences and properly handle these situations. 

It is important to understand the best practices in providing feedback to students when teaching online. The criticism should be private, as well as lengthy discussions regarding progress. This would be different than a "check in" or a whole group discussion.

This section discusses the importance of the instructor and the ways in which the instructor can assert authority and create professional relationship with a class online.

In order for an online educational platform to work, there must be varying levels of support. There will be students from different backgrounds and abilities. The more support that is provided, the better the student will do.
