As someone new to instructing, I find that my lack of public speaking can hinder the lessons. I fear I will be more focused on how I say something rather than seeing if the students understand the lesson. I plan on preparing myself by fully knowing the lesson plan and attempt to map out any questions the students might have. Has anyone else struggled with this?

Meeting the students day one

-I would meet them at the door, hand shake and warm greetings. I'd like to ask the student to give a little info about themselves and where they see themselves after receiving their license.

-Overview of what is to be learned or understood by the end of the week

-outline the day with chapters or or projects

-Ask if there are any questions before we begin.

As a new instructor, the best plan to have is preparation. The more I know about the subject the better I can interpret to students. I've learned that gaining the students trust is crucial in how they view the subject. Once a student loses confidence in the teacher, they mentally put a block on anything the teachers say. Credibility is everything.

FERPA protects students from having others view their academic records and allows students to make corrections they believe were incorrect.

All students and faculty should be aware of all assistant programs offered on campus and all forms of sexual assault should be reported, no matter the length of time.

Title IX describes a series of investigation techniques used by institutions to investigate sexual assault incidents. There is no one procedure that fits all scenarios, but allows the school to set certain procedures that fit a case by case incident.

Title IX mandates all institutions have qualified personnel to handle situations that involving sexual discrimination (all forms) and know how to handle situations. VAWA makes it clear that it is every ones responsibility to keep campuses safe and report any wrong doings.

Title IX Men and Woman are protected from sexual harassment and assault at school, schools must investigate complaints of any harassment and correct any misbehavior. 

VAWA protects woman from all violent behavior including workplace and stalking.
