In this topic I learned that Learning objectives and standards will help me as an instructor by giving me a template for instruction, ensuring lessons will be meaningful to my students =, as well as, lining up with required educational goals outlined for the students.

I learned in this topic that an overview of a lesson plan permits instructors to take the course curriculum and shape it into and intriguing and significant activities for students. 

I've learned that establishing precise, quantifiable learning objectives, coordinating activities with curriculum standards, and preparing resources ahead of time are all necessary for efficient lesson planning. Determining the learning objective provides interesting activities, developing formative assessments to gauge comprehension; and preparing for differentiation to suit a range of learner needs are all crucial tasks. 

Most adult learner are considered kinesthetic and therefore learn by using their hands or building. There are three types of learners: auditory, visual and kinesthetic and I agree with the statement of learning by teaching others. As I am going through the process of teaching I am in turn reviewing the steps in my head as I am presenting to students. This type of learning is more than rote memorization but learning by application of skills.

For adult learners, the ability to apply what they've learned in book contexts is crucial. Asking students to complete assignments that you have recently taught them would be a great idea.

Keeping my focus on the students will entail noticing how focus they are on me and the material in front of them. My job as an instructor is not only to teach the course work but also to keep the students engaged by sometimes having quick discussions and sometimes laughter to remove any boredom from setting in.

I intend on boosting the engagement level with students by adopting personal relationships with them; and by using organized learning methods.

I have learned that there will be students of all ages, culture diversities, as well as the different fears each student will have. It will be my job as their instructor to carefully communicate with each age difference so that I can reach everyone but on different levels. I will have to learn each student's disability and handicap so that no one will feel inadequate in the class setting.

I have learned that being an instructor isn't something that you wake up one morning and decide to do. You have to prepare yourself and be able to explain and deliver the course outline in a way  that all students can relate to because every students has a learning  style. An instructor may have to create a different concept for some but at same time, everyone is learning the material simultaneously.  

In this topic I have learned several things as it pertains to Planning and Preparation for being an instructor. There are many factors in becoming an effective instructor like, knowing how to teach, setting goals, developing a syllabus and having a good teaching environment. As a new instructor I am going to utilize all of the information and instruments given to me during my training and apply that in the classroom.
