For those of you who may want to have some basic information about me, I have been employed in higher education for more than fifteen years, teaching at a community college, and part-time at a local university in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to my teaching career, I was employed as a police officer for ten years, assigned to patrol duties and traffic enforcement. Moreover, I am a licensed attorney in Texas.

My educational background represents an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing and resolving issues. I have earned undergraduate in political science, criminal justice, sociology, and graduate degrees in interdisciplinary studies, political science, criminal justice, sociology, a Juris Doctor in Law, and an advanced law degree LL.M. in comparative and international law.
