I feel that a combination of technology (ipads) and textbooks is the way to go. I teach emergency medical technician courses where it benefits the students to complete their assignments on the ipad but use the textbook to search for and verify information needed to complete the assignments.

I really enjoyed this class. It reinforced the instructional style that I try to use the most. I find that I enjoy active learning activities as well as my students.

I am convinced assessment is the key which opens the door for success. When effectively used, both formative and summative assessment promotes changes in instruction, changes in learning, and as a result changes in student motivation and success. Effective assessment is part and parcel with effective instruction. The closer curriculum, instruction, and assessment are aligned to classroom activities, the greater the mastery of intended outcomes (Holler, Gareis, Martin, Clouser, and Miller (2008).
