Teachers, administrators and staff must be willing to effectively community and open share in the responsibility of providing educational opportunities to students that support their interests and career goals.

I have learned about the many resources available to CTE administrators from mentoring to how to plan for teacher PD. 

I found out there are numerous ways to advance as a CTE professional from earning credentials to fellowship opportunities. 

I have learned that professional development is necessary for personal and professional growth. Teachers should seek opportunities to learn from others like peers, industry or employer partners, extern- and internships, college or online learning to name a few. This will help them to build their expertise on the subject matter and remain current and relevant in the marketplace. 

I've learned that teachers must be opened minded and reflective. Likewise, they should seeking continuous learning and find ways to enhance their pedagogy. 

I've learned how important for teachers to pour into themselves to increase their knowledge and understanding of the industry in which they teach. All CTE teacher should attend relevant and meaning professional development opportunities, build industry specific network or employer partner, join professional and or technical organizations all in an effort to stay current and abreast. I can encourage CTE teachers in my district to take advantage and seek out these trainings and or relationships. 

Teachers should be properly trained and certified to ensure that the teacher can effectively teacher the program of study for the state approved CTE program. Being experienced and certified in the CIP allows for better support and implementation of the four components of a CTE classroom. 

I've learned that all stakeholders should have input or curriculum and design of CTE programs. This will ensure that students are prepared with the needed skills to secure in demand, high wage, high skills jobs upon graduation. 

I learned about the PAC and how it can help to support teacher and students by bridging the gap between industry & collegiate partners and the classroom

I learned about multiple early opportunities for students to earn college credit(s) including credit by exam, dual or concurrent enrollment and articulation agreements.
