<p>My name is Lisa Caudill and I have been in higher education for eight years now; seven of my years were in Florida and I worked my was from an admissions advisor up to the role of Associate Diretor of Admissions.  I am extremely passionate about education which has made me extremely successful in my career.  If I can share one piece of advice that is that following compliance, rules and regulations set by the DOE is a critical part to your job, your institutions accreditation and your students well being.  We always want to do what is going to keep us in compliance 100% of the time; there is NO bending the rules!</p>

<div class="river_content_display"><p>Being in higher education for over 8 years I have been through a lot of change in the for profit sector.  When the DOE cracked down I was lucky to be working for a college who was ahead of the game and was proactive with change, and change continued over and over.  With change comes some employee frustration and resistance.  Has anyone had an employee that just couldn't get the changes and couldn't comply?  I have and my situation ended in terminating the employee.  What did you do and how did you handle the situation? </p></div>					<!-- </p> -->

	<div class="river_content_display"><p>@Michael39 :&nbsp; I have found over the years that if you can get the student talking about themself then this is a great way to get them out of their shell so to speak.&nbsp; We as agents have a tendency to want to do all of the talking; however, practicing active listening skill is one thing we always forget.&nbsp; People like to talk about themselfs and this is a big key to getting the student to open up.&nbsp; Ultimately it's not about us but the student.</p></div>					<!-- </p> -->

<p>My name is Lisa Caudill and I have been in higher education for eight years now; seven of my years were in Florida and I worked my was from an admissions advisor up to the role of Associate Diretor of Admissions.  I am extremely passionate about education which has made me extremely successful in my career.  If I can share one piece of advice that is that following compliance, rules and regulations set by the DOE is a critical part to your job, your institutions accreditation and your students well being.  We always want to do what is going to keep us in compliance 100% of the time; there is NO bending the rules!</p>]]></metadata>

<div class="river_content_display"><p>Being in higher education for over 8 years I have been through a lot of change in the for profit sector.  When the DOE cracked down I was lucky to be working for a college who was ahead of the game and was proactive with change, and change continued over and over.  With change comes some employee frustration and resistance.  Has anyone had an employee that just couldn't get the changes and couldn't comply?  I have and my situation ended in terminating the employee.  What did you do and how did you handle the situation? </p></div>					<!-- </p> -->

	<div class="river_content_display"><p>@Michael39 :&nbsp; I have found over the years that if you can get the student talking about themself then this is a great way to get them out of their shell so to speak.&nbsp; We as agents have a tendency to want to do all of the talking; however, practicing active listening skill is one thing we always forget.&nbsp; People like to talk about themselfs and this is a big key to getting the student to open up.&nbsp; Ultimately it's not about us but the student.</p></div>					<!-- </p> -->
