It is not always easy, but I always try and maintain a positive attitute, listen and guide in the right direction. Negative emotions must be checked at the door (which is not always easy as student reactions/events can throw us off balance).  But then its when its a good time to step back and breath.  I saw this a lot when working in hospitals and dealing with health professionals.  Many have an amazing ability to get their emotions under control, and managed.  Very interesting course - learnt alot and room for improvement for me.

The idea of studystack.com is a good suggestion.  It looks as though the students can access it on a variety of devices as well which is awesome.  So I suppose the instructor could create the cards and then the students can just access them as needed.  Students are now starting carry around their eReaders with them to school.  So that is a great way to review and carry the info with them.  Plus students love having the "techie" connection with their instructors. Thanks for sharing the website.

There were some interesting ideas on how to handle students.  Top idea I got from the discussion board was listening to students and saying to students who are angry/upset "letsgive me the chance to help you" to totally calm down a situation and then see what can be done.

Just completed my first course ED101. Overall the website is excellent, well laid out and easy to use.  The ED101 was a good review and confirmation of what I already do and have learned in previous educational programs.  The highlight was actually reading and finding new ideas of how to increase student motivation and connect to students on the first day in the discussion boards. It is really worth reading through those and taking note. Thanks
