Managing students who are cheating, shy, angry, there are several strategies to accomplish this and assist the student in remaining in the class with progress and success. As an educator we should definitely focus strategies to help the student, have students sit a distance apart before the exam, give various types of exams, short answer, case studies instead of mainly T/F and multiple choice exams. How to deal with challenging students, center stage students, manipulative students, students who come to class late or nonparticipative students, we must find strategies to enhance student learning and also deescalate the students' behavior, have a seating chart for the student who is inattentive, center stage student do not allow them to take center stage all the time, include those who do not choose or want to participate, the manipulative student must understand that they must complete their assignments without giving excuses or expecting extra points because you brought me a gift or frequently give compliments to the teacher. 

I have learned about subject matter expert SME, and Instructional Delivery Expert (IDE). The instructor will develop ways to create a detailed syllabus, highlighting areas to get the student's attention. Also setting standards for late assignments.     

I have learned about how the instructor should approach the student in the classroom, with an equality of curriculum learning, making no differences in the delivery of instruction but meeting the students' needs as the instructor using various strategies for positivity. I enjoyed learning more about psychological disorder, such as Bipolar, OCD, and ODD. There are common mistakes to avoid with the student who is bipolar, has OCD or ODD as well as strategies that will enhance the students' behavior in a positive manner and know that we are not qualified or learning about how to diagnose a psychological disorder.  

This was an interesting subject focusing on ADHD and dyslexia, dyscalculia and learning the meaning of each while also understanding the student more and finding ways to improve their strengths as opposed to the students' weaknesses. Respect the student at all times, do not discuss their disability unless it is within a controlled very professional environment, do not talk down to the student or belittle them in any way possible.    

Physical disabilities or Health disabilities can definitely affect the student's learning abilities or impede the progress of learning new material. As an educator we must make necessary accommodations, look at their absences but may allow breaks for the student, be aware of their health issue/physical disability and definitely adhere to ways to assist the student in being successful, do not turn your back or cover your mouth to the HOH or deaf student, have a buddy system, visual impairment, interpreter maybe needed, speak in clear detailed sentences, students may not be capable of performing in the science lab without special… >>>

I learned that the student must come forward with information identifying their disability in order for provisions to be made and adhered to focusing on all guidelines and mandates by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Section 504. It is very important that the educator understands how she may assist the student with a disability, collaborate with other faculty members identifying ways to assist the student in being successful with learning, have a one on one with student. 

I have enjoyed learning about physical and psychological disabilities. I was not aware that Asthma and Diabetes were considered disabilities. It is quite important to meet the needs of the student, so wearing glasses, contacts etc could also be viewed as a disability. If you are educated on the Disability Act and what falls under this title it will protect you as an educator as well as increase your level of knowledge thusly allowing you to instruct safely and with an understanding.
