The use of portfolios should be strongly encouraged, especially when you have students seeking a career in healthcare. There are so many items to maintain and organize which makes portfolios ideal for my students. I also deal a lot with accreditation and, for site visits, it is vital that I be able to shown work products for all of my students.

I frequently take different learning styles and personality assessments to see if I have changed. I appreciate when students complete the same tools so they can have a better understanding of how they learn and how the fit into a group setting. Maximizing content input only increases our ability to reach every student.

I have learned that, to remain engaged, our students require a variety of different media and options to interact. The diagram is a great way to viualize what we can do to help our students do well in an online learning environment. To be honest, the diagram is not too far from the model for communication.
