It's really important to have a back-up plan if, for some reason, the technology doesn't work. I've had this experience in the classroom and, while frustrating, it did allow for a different approach to the information which made me rethink how I could utilize technology different in the future.

I enjoyed thinking about the reasons why adult learners are interested in learning - this is a concept that I think is overlooked by some instructors but is crucial to engagement and success.

I think the use of the accessibility check on Microsoft is a great tool that I never realized was available!

Training on new technology is a MUST. I have found this to be a commonly overlooked area during the implementation stage.

It's important to take into consideration the end goal of the questions you're asking. Are you looking for rote memorization? Are you looking for critical thinking? Are you hoping for a mastery of terms? What about an understanding of a process? All of these questions should influence the way that you ask questions (both in class and as part of a more formal assessment). 

I found the guidelines for effective questioning to be a really great tool. It's not necessarily something I've thought about before and will have to pay more attention to in the future.

I really like the idea of incorporating webquests into my lectures - a great way to engage students in a way that they can relate to.

Empathy and high standards are not mutually exclusive - I LOVE THIS! What a great way to phrase this concept that I believe in so strongly!

I found the different lecture types to be very helpful - it's not something I considered before but something that I just felt was a natural part of imparting information. Knowing the different types empowers me to be intentional about those choices.

One of my favorite parts of this was actually the video with the instructor that said something along the lines of, "I don't want to know anything you learned the night before. I want to know what came to you as we discussed this during class." I feel like that is very indicative of effective, engaged learning - being in the moment and responding to what is being discussed at the time.
