I love to play music in my classroom, Though my area of expertise is cosmetology. I feel that music helps their creativity. It has to be clean and a majority vote from the class has to take place before the music is accepted. This helps the student be in control of their atomsphere and also helps with teaching them the importance of not offending your co-worker or clients.

With one of the posts, I noticed that the instructor wanted to know how to fit in a memorization learning environment to a three week course with alot of memorization. One of the tricks that I like to do to ensure a fun,learning environment (especially for my anatomy class)is to have mannequins from the esthetics department and have them to draw and write the muscles that control the facial, mouth, neck and shoulders. I think that as a career instructor we sometimes have the advantage of still being working professionals while teaching. I think that as a good instructor we should solicite outside community resources to come in and talk about their businesses and the importance of learning in the field of choice. This in turn helps motivate the student to start searching and volunteering at businesses that could possibly be there place of career upon graduating. But schools have to very careful in their promises to students and rely on their numbers rather than loose words.

One of the ways i like to relive stress is on a demanding day is to go out for lunch to have a change of scenary with a fellow co-worker to just laugh or vent about the day so that i can be refreshed and energize for the rest of the day. I dont want my stress or problems to interfere with my ability to teach adults who ultimatly have the same worries that i do with life, bills, daycare and etc.

I particular love this topic because my mother alwaays told me that there was never a dumb question except for the one that is never asked at all and with being a good instructor i always left room for my student to give a answer and make sure that they dont feel like they were totally wrong in their belief. It is our job to direct them in another way that they could learn or see another way of how that answer can be best defined rather than them telling them "your wrong".
