Be creative in finding ways to engage with each and every student. The course should be fun while still reflecting the career path. Lead by example. Create positive and welcoming environment for learning material as well as positive interactions with peers. 

Getting to know your students, their backgrounds, and their goals will not only aid in their learning, but could also aid in teaching of the class. Students can greatly benefit from learning from each other as well as you, the instructor. Listen and be supportive without allowing for disruption or loss of professionalism.
