I like the first half of this course. Great ideas, really made me think about my own classroom. The second half....meh...not so much.

agreed. I just wish all of these "courses" were more like a course, and less like an informative table of contents!

Many avenues of education encourage group think, and group task for learning. Today's students are socially driven.
is this truly appropriate for industries that function on individual thinking,problem solving, and accomplishment?
I find many of my students seemingly unable to "think for themselves" when asked to stand apart from their group or class.
Are we pushing this group thing too much?

aaawwww....c'mon gang...this is how we're supposed to duplicate the in-classroom discussion of a "normal" education-- by being required to participate in our online "room"
doesn't this feel like your education is better now?
in order to stay within the spirit, I will say that this class was a touch repetetive from some of the others, so I guess that means some of this stuff must be sinking in!
as an automotive technology instructor I feel I have no problem with this. There is a constant barrage of new information available for me to continuously research, update, and refresh my material, all the while maintaining relevancy, motivation, and for me, stimulous in the classroom.

I just don't believe 100% attention and retention is possible. Far too many of todays students come to us with poor school habits that we cannot easliy rectify in the short time we have them.
In addition, at least in my school, we have far too many students who arent there to really seriously learn at all, and right off the bat, this skews so many of the concepts of all of these courses. Its something none of them address that I have seen
Do the best you can-- but don't obsess over the losses.
