I find with the Gen Y students, they are constantly picking up cell phones in order to text, pulling up Facebook or other social media, etc., without even realizing they are being rude to their classmates or instructor. When dealing with the Gen Y students, I find they continually want instant feedback when it comes to testing. I have many students, and it takes time to correct all the tests we take on a weekly basis. When my students are feeling discouraged because they are struggling with a particular lesson and they become very doubtful of their ability to perform and they start using language like, "I can't do this," I call that "stinkin thinking."
