One has to be careful not to induce a student to obtain a result.

Make sure that ALL information you are presenting about your school is factual.

I think that testimonials are a great idea. When interviewing a student, if an Admissions rep can show a prospect the testimonial of a student that has "gone before them", I think that will help the prospect relate to the school and program.

Students want to know that their efforts will yield good results. They trust in their educators and their school to deliver to them the information they need to succeed. When that doesn't happen, trust is broken and it's almost impossible to regain.

I feel that "good stress" can help to keep you on target for the tasks you need to accomplish.

I equate remembering the "do's and dont's" of FERPA with the HIPAA regulations. If it is not information that is needed to critically process a student's enrollment, or a patient's health, it is best NOT to discuss it with ANYONE! And, even then, FERPA requires that certain information not be discussed.

Had it not been for student loans, neither me or my daughters would have completed college. The money just was not there in our family. I did not mind paying back my student loans because they helped me achieve my goal of being a college graduate. I have had a very successful career, and that would not have happened without the student loan process.

I think that a testimonial from a student that has finished the program and experienced the "real world" builds belief beyond what the teacher can relay. Even though the student (hopefully) trusts you, the presence of a graduate in the classroom, speaking to what they have experienced since graduation is a great motivator for the current student(s); especially if the graduate was someone that many students could relate to.
