i like to have fun. the students like to have fun. they can learn and have fun at the same time, class's don't have to be so boring. i play music when they come in to class, this gets them pumped up, ( there's nothing wronge with some old school pantera). and who said you have to stay in the class todo reviews? take them out side, change the scenerey. the time will fly by, and the boredum won't set in..

for instructors, we shouldn't fear change. even out side of the the norm, some times the more complex it looks, turns out to be simple. the students never known this world with out the internet, and cell phones are as common as us having earings during the hair band days.(thats the 80's and 90's, for those who are old as dirt).
so you can reject the this new generation, or accept it, and the sooner you accept it, then the funner your job with be.
learn how to talk to the students as human beings
not students , nor kids, but as adults, and u will get there respect.

if you show that u care about the student, he/she will want to show up for class. remember , your actions effect other people. if u have the i don't care attitude, then the studnts don't care.

the times when your mom stayed home and cooked are done. we as instructors need to reconize this. our method on instructing should also change.. be real, who wants to sit for 6 hours when some one in teaching?? i know i didn't when i was in school. we need to reconize that what is ok in certain fields of work, ( IE.. a rough neck working on an oil drilling platform) the wording people use may not and probaly isn't prim and proper. now compared to a person who works a white collar job and who is more concerned… >>>
