I get students all the time asking me about other schools and how they run their programs. Sometimes its out of curiosity and sometimes its to see what reaction I will give. Ive attempted in the past to not say anything about other schools and to change the subject, but for some students that wasnt a good answer. And now after going through this training, I realize I was doing more bad than good. This course helped me.

The more informed the prospective student is then they will be able to feel more confident about making the decision to enroll in a program. They have a lot of hopes and dreams riding on the decision to go to school. Just like in life we need to know everything about everything before we sign anything; same concept.

I recognize with the feeling of not having enough time to get all my tasks complete in the time frame that I am given or that I have set for myself. I tend to take on more than I can handle but only trying to please others. I need to take control of my tasks just day to day and set priority to those tasks so that I dont get overwhelmed with trying to figure out where to start. Looking unorganized does not look good to the students.

I am still fairly new to being an instructor and I have been doing it for about 6 months now. At first, I thought it would be easy but I soon found out that this was not the case. It was a learning experience for me as well as the students. Doing these online courses and with help from other instructors has been very helpful in developing my own teaching style and im still improving.

To get a student to open up I think smaller groups work. The other students break the ice with the silent one and this allows them to speak up and ask questions on an material they didn't understand. This also helps them make some friends in the classroom so they dont feel alone.

Knowing how my students perferr to receive and retain information, will help me to know how to deliver the information needed for them to pass their test and use this information to help them in their career.

Sharing with the students my own personal experiences out in the field and how I was as a student, will help give them reality to what they are learning here in school. Constantly reminding them that the material and skills that they learn here will be important and used on the job will keep them focused and helps them understand the importance of what they are doing in class.

Being open to new ideas from the students gives them the energy and enthusiasm that they need to prevent themselves and myself from getting caught up in a routine where could become bored.

creating an open environment and greeting my students everyday will help build a teacher-student relationship that will create trust from the student and give better means to their learning experience.

Understanding the different age groups and possible cultural diversities that I could have in my class will help me as an instructor to teach my lesson according to the students needs and abilities.
