Attending meetings is very important to make sure that the updated and proper information is being disseminated. FAPS has online meetings that can be helpful and a link was provided.

I learned that a formal marketing plan is not required.

I learned that the enrollment form requires over 20 sections of necessary information in order to be binding. I also learned that although the enrollment agreement may be filled out later, the student is not considered enrolled until the entire agreement is signed and binding.

I learned that there are many requirements that an admissions agent must understand. This requires both FAPS and institutional training to satisfy the Commission. In addition, I learned that beyond the online publications that organizing those publications and online forms within a printed Notebook is the best practice for easy reference.

I understood the listening skill section and had 100% but the final quiz with sales, people, attitude, and product knowledge took me several tries. I best understood the importance of the connection which is accomplished through listening. The listening questionnaire made me re-evaluate the way I listen. Fact finding and I even stop listening if I know what the other person is going to say. I will work on these issues.

Listening IS the job. Thus, learning how to repeat, rephrase, and reflect serves to help you do your job effectively. It takes practice and understanding the levels 1-3 from "it is all about me" to "hyper focus listening" to "being aware of the emotions of the exchange".

Body Language is 55% of how communication is interpreted. Making the student feel comfortable is an important aspect of the connection process. Being aware of body language is pertinent for establishing the goal of agreement.

Understanding how to navigate the CMS is important for all parties. Knowing the roles and expectations and ensuring that instructors and other support staff understand the management system and adhere to the rules is important so that the students have consistency and know what to expect.

The goal is to initiate new relationships. This starts with honesty about the program with a genuine effort to help them. To act as a leader, one must solve problems by seeking agreement and ALWAYS follow up.

Giving an example of an experience from another student and then asking them what they see as a benefit good strategy. I believe this is a good lesson for seeking common ground towards agreement.
